UMRIDA Workshop on Robust Design
Application of RD methods accounting for a large number of simultaneous uncertainties
20th to 21st April 2015
Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)
Brussels, Belgium
Workshop Objectives
The focus of the UMRIDA workshop on Robust Design (RD) lies on the application of RD techniques to test cases with a large number of uncertainties. The overall objective is the assessment and application of RD methods in industrial design practice.
A series of challenging test cases submitted by industrial partners from the consortium form the unique UMRIDA validation database with prescribed uncertainties. Some of these test cases such as rotors, wing-bodies, high-lift systems and airfoils are open to participants from outside the consortium.
Participants from academia and industry are welcome to participate in this workshop on one or several of the proposed test cases!
Besides the participation to the open UMRIDA test cases, participants can contribute with presentations on:
· Application of RD to industrial relevant configurations
· New developments in the field RD
The program will be completed by applications of RD methods to multidisciplinary industrial test cases including aero-acoustics, fluid-structure interaction, turbine cooling or combustion from professionals from inside the consortium and by invited speakers who are addressing state-of-the art research in the field of robust design.
